Ombrellinos/Processional Canopies

During the celebration of Corpus Christi, ombrellinos and processional canopies are sacred symbols of honor and reverence. The ombrellino is a ceremonial umbrella traditionally associated with the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, symbolizing protection and dignity. The processional canopy, carried above the priest, is used to shelter the monstrance as the Eucharist is carried in procession.
